Prof. Dr. Anca Dobrean
Director of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB).
Dr. Dobrean is a member of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) and served as the President (2012–2024) of the Romanian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies (APCCR).
She has coordinated numerous national and international research projects focused on child and adolescent mental health, digital mental health interventions, school-based prevention programs, and clinical assessment. She is the recipient of several research grants investigating innovative interventions for ADHD and anxiety and depression disorders in children and adolescents.
As a researcher, Dr. Dobrean has led studies on the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in treating internalizing and externalizing disorders in children and adolescents, as well as research on the role of parental factors in various child mental health conditions. Her work bridges science and practice, promoting evidence-based psychological interventions adapted to real-life contexts.

Dr. Costina-Ruxandra Poetar
Associate Professor
She earned her PhD in Psychology in 2016 within the Doctoral School of Psychodiagnosis and Scientifically Validated Psychological Interventions, with the thesis “Transdiagnostic Interventions Delivered Through Technology.”
Her research interests include scientifically validated interventions for children, adolescents, and adults; family and couple psychology; and technology-delivered interventions (Internet-based, computerized, mobile applications, and virtual reality–delivered interventions).
She is currently coordinating the project “Optimizing Digital Parenting Interventions for ADHD: A Network Analysis Approach” (Acronym: ADHDnet).
Dr. Raluca Georgescu
Postdoctoral researcher
She is a licensed clinical psychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, conducting her research activity at the University of Padua (Italy) and the University of Washington (USA).
Her scientific work focuses on the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of psychological interventions for chronic pain and mental health conditions.
Currently, she is the Principal Investigator of the RECOVER project (REcasting psychological interventions for Customizing, Optimizing, Validating, and Enhancing Recovery of chronic pain patients), funded by the European Union through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme (HORIZON-MSCA-2023-PF-01-01).
The project aims to identify the active ingredients of psychological interventions for chronic pain, as well as ineffective or potentially harmful components that may limit clinical outcomes. Its main goal is to develop a clinical decision-support system to personalize psychological treatments for chronic pain and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
Her research work has been recognized through several awards, including the POSDRU Award for Research Excellence (2016) and the Young Researcher in Science Award under the Rada Mihalcea Program (Cluj-Napoca City Hall, 2024).
In addition to her research, Dr. Georgescu contributes to scientific publishing as a member of The Lancet Psychiatry Editorial Board Development Programme and the European Association of Science Editors, supporting international peer review and dissemination of clinical psychology research.

She obtained the doctoral degree in psychology in 2022 within the doctoral school Evidence Based Assessment and Psychological Interventions with the thesis "Heart rate variability as a potential neurophysiological marker in children and adolescents with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder".
Her professional expertise includes specialized services in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental disorders.
Her research interests include child and adolescent psychopathology, physiological measurements as markers of psychological functioning, and highlighting the interactive relationship between the human body and the cortex.
Denisa Moldovan

Her research interests include exploring the mechanisms involved in the progression of depression and anxiety symptoms, as well as investigating parental factors involved in child and adolescent psychopathology, aiming to identify key factors and interventions that can improve mental health at both individual and family levels.

His main research interests consist of identifying and studying new potential markers associated with psychopathological manifestations.
Dr. Ionuț-Stelian Florean

In this role, he teaches courses such as Quantitative Research Methods and Statistics, Psychological Assessment, and Psychodiagnosis of Abilities and Intelligence.
He earned his PhD in 2022 within the Doctoral School of Evidence-Based Assessment and Psychological Interventions, with a thesis focused on the effectiveness of online parental interventions in reducing behavioral problems in children and adolescents.
He is currently involved in several research projects exploring emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents, understanding the mechanisms contributing to their development, and evaluating the effectiveness of various interventions aimed at preventing and reducing these issues.
In his current research activity, he primarily employs network analysis—an innovative method that allows the exploration of the dynamic relationships among symptoms. His goal is to clarify the mechanisms underlying the emergence of emotional and behavioral problems and to optimize psychological interventions for children and adolescents.
Dr. Raluca Balan

Raluca earned her PhD in Psychology in 2021 within the Doctoral School of Evidence-Based Assessment and Psychological Interventions at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca.
She has been involved in numerous research projects focused on developing and testing technology-mediated psychological interventions aimed at reducing emotional problems and bullying among children and adolescents.
Her research interests primarily focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying school bullying and on the use of technology in delivering scientifically validated psychological interventions.
Currently, she is conducting a research project aimed at developing and evaluating the effectiveness of a customized ChatGPT designed for adolescents who witness bullying incidents.

Her research activity focuses on identifying possible neuromarkers involved in the etiopathogenesis of these disorders, aiming to support targeted and effective clinical interventions within the pediatric population.
Roxana Mărginean
Doctoral researcher
She is a clinical psychologist and a certified cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists and the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
She has completed formal training in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and holds additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Her research interests focus on the effectiveness of technology-mediated psychological interventions in the treatment of psychotic disorders, as well as the role of transdiagnostic processes—such as cognitive fusion and experiential avoidance—in the relationship between paranoid ideation and psychological distress.
She has also contributed to the Romanian adaptation, psychometric validation, and diagnostic utility assessment of the Green Paranoid Thoughts Scale – Revised (GPTS-R).

She completed her undergraduate studies and later the master’s programs “Clinical Psychology, Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy” and “Judicial Psychology” within the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the same university.
Her research interests focus on the impact of the online environment on children and adolescents, particularly regarding exposure to online aggression (cyberbullying).
She is a certified psychotherapist by the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies and the Romanian College of Psychologists. In terms of psychotherapy training, she completed training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), additional training in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and a specialization in psycho-oncology. With regard to Schema Therapy (ST), she has completed training in individual schema therapy, couple schema therapy, and schema therapy for children and adolescents.
In parallel, she is also an associate lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences in Cluj-Napoca, teaching seminar courses such as Family and Couple Psychology and Clinical Psychodiagnosis and Interventions with Children.
Viktoria Kulcsar

Her doctoral thesis focused on the difficulties that arise when making career-related choices, as well as the role of dysfunctional negative emotions in these difficulties.
Her academic training is strengthened by practical and research experience in international academic environments, such as Yale University (USA) and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel).
Alexandra Sabou

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2018 and completed her Master’s studies in Clinical Psychology, Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy at the same university in 2020.
Her research interests focus on the role of empathy and socio-emotional factors in the emergence and maintenance of bullying behaviors among children and adolescents. Her scientific work examines the characteristics of bystanders who witness bullying episodes, with a particular emphasis on those who take on the role of defending the victim.
In addition to her research activity, Alexandra Sabou is an associate lecturer within the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences.
In parallel, she works as an autonomous cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists, providing psychotherapeutic services for adults, children, adolescents, and their families in private practice.
